[comp.protocols.tcp-ip] SLIP for system V.3

mk@lule.frontec.SE (Michael Kolmodin) (12/07/90)

I have a system V.3 machine (a motorola delta thing) with
Berkeley network extensions includning a fairly complete
socket library. Is there a SLIP version somewhere I can use?

Sys V.3 SLIP is probably best attained by checking out KA9Q. This
is how most people I know are running it on Sys V. Interactive and
SCO have SLIP in their Sys V kernels, you might want to try them
and see if they don't have a public domain access site they can
point you at.

As for Ultrix 4.1, CSLIP is an augmentation of SLIP by Van Jacobson.
It had both Sun and Ultrix code which should be compatible with any
Ultrix 2.3 (?) system and above. If you down load this code and
read the readme files, and code, you will instructions and a patch
to get it running on your Ultrix system.

Hope this helps.
