[comp.protocols.tcp-ip] phone number to get off LOTUS Marketplace: Households

mrc@Tomobiki-Cho.CAC.Washington.EDU (Mark Crispin) (01/17/91)

There have been a few messages recently about the LOTUS CD-ROM
database of 120 million Americans offering a better than ever means
for your privacy to be invaded.

If you want to get off the database, you can call LOTUS customer
service at (800) 225-5800 and asked to be removed.

This has the advantage over writing in that it costs LOTUS every time
someone calls in on their 800 number, instead of making us pay for the
postage stamp.

I just called and received a message which said that this number was
incorrect (it actually said "if you are calling to have your name
removed...", so there apparently are quite a number of people
calling). The recording mentioned that the correct number is:
         *  1-800-688-8320  *

              Peace,
