[comp.protocols.tcp-ip] SCO UNIX cpd

scoggin@DELMARVA.DELMARVA.COM (John Scoggin) (01/24/91)

I agree that the cpd daemon is a nuisance. Does anyone know what happens if
you remove it from the rc startup scripts? I've bought four copies of SCO
Open DeskTop (in fact, we were in the developer program) - have never cheated
them out of a dime. Four machines - four copies. But the traffic is an
annoyance, and I do have a strong aversion to these childish protection schemes.
(In fact, I have never soiled one of my systems with Lotus 123, for the same
reason!)

If anyone has tried this, I would be interested in the results.
