[comp.protocols.tcp-ip] MIT SNMP on SCO 3.2.2 UNIX platform

lisa@netwrx1.NW1.COM (Lisa C. Ingrassia) (01/29/91)

I have recently downloaded the MIT SNMP Development kit code
(Oct 90 version) from the allspice.lcs.mit.edu host.
I want to port it to the SCO Unix 3.2.2 platform. However, it
refers to many include files that SCO Unix does not support
(e.g., machparam.h).

Has anyone already ported this code to the SCO Unix platform who will
share the changes made to run with SCO's include file & library
structure?

Thanks.

Lisa,
I provide the network administration and Internet connection for the
annual UniForum conferences, and this year I did use SNMP as a basis
for monitoring the network.

I used The Wollongong Groups (TWG) SNMP management software and SCO's
SNMP agent on SCO-ODT UNIX. The TWG Mgmt S/W ran fairly well, but the
SCO agent kept dying. I also obtained CMU and MIT's SNMP software, and
also have not yet completed porting it due to missing include files. I
just got my computer back from the last show (Jan 22-24) and will begin
working on this again next week.

Also, I intend to look at the ISODE 6.0 SNMP agent to see if it can
easily be ported to SCO UNIX (just need lots of disk space right?).

Anyhow, if you would like to colaberate, please let me know, also I
would be interested in any information/sucesses/failures you may have.
