Hi, I have quit a few reactions on my posting about our free Ethernet Snooper developed at the Technical University Delft in the Netherlands. My first posting did have some bugs in it, so here i go again: NetCure is a PC based ethernet snooper that reports about traffic, packet distributions, packet-types, and a top-ten list of hosts. FurtherMore, it has a seperate packet dumper plus a packet displayer with a protocol formatter. The NetCure package uses packet-device drivers to handle the network hardware, so you will need a packet-driver for your ethernet card ! After loading your packet driver, you can run one of the network components NetMon (monitoring), NetCapt (dumping), and NetView (packet viewing). The package is full-screen, with lots of fancy windows, but the documentation is lacking, so hackers-only ! You can get the package from dutepp0.et.tudelft.nl with anonymous ftp, it is in the directory NetCure and consists of a number of ".zip" files: ReadMe : very sparce docu netcapt.zip : dumping and viewing netmon.zip : monitoring pkt7com.zip : packet driver distribution, : just to be complete ! Unpack the files netcapt.zip and netmon.zip in one directory, load your packet-driver and run netmon.exe. The rest should be clear (;-) ) Jan
