[comp.protocols.tcp-ip] load average for System V

In Wollongong's tcp/ip package for System V, you get rwhod and
ruptime.  So apparently, they know how to compute load average.  Now,
I'd like to compute it too, in the hope that I can dispose of the use
of rwhod.  How is it computed?  I find it odd that uptime is not
included while ruptime is.
