[comp.protocols.tcp-ip] zero as a subnet number

meggers@mothra.nts.uci.edu (Mark Eggers) (03/09/91)

I know that this was just posted, but since we do not have a zero subnet
number (class B, 255.255.255.0 subnet mask), I didn't pay attention to it.

There is now a net connected to us with a zero subnet, and I need to give
them a detailed explaination of why this is not a good idea. I found that
I cannot explain this accurately enough. Could someone please email me a
concise, reasoned explaination?
