Has anyone made a list of available TCP/IP software packages that run under OS/2 and which Ethernet boards they support? I am aware of IBM's product but would like to know what else is available, including public domain software. Thanks in advance.. ________________________ Bob Fillmore, Systems Software & Communications BITNET: FILLMORE@EMRCAN Computer Services Centre, BIX: bfillmore Energy, Mines, & Resources Canada Voice: (613) 992-2832 588 Booth St., Ottawa, Ontario, Canada K1A 0E4 FAX: (613) 996-2953

Has anyone made a list of available TCP/IP software packages that run under OS/2 and which Ethernet boards they support? IBM, FTP Software, Essex Systems, 3Com, and Ungermann-Bass all use the NDIS software driver interface standard, and so can run on any network card for which an OS/2 NDIS driver can be obtained (ask the vendor - it's required by LAN Manager, but Netware uses ODI, which is different). Most, if not all of these can use either Ethernet or 802.5 NDIS drivers. Interlan's offering requires their intelligent Ethernet adapter. Novell (Excelan)'s may use NDIS, or it may use ODI, or it may require their intelligent adapter; I'm not sure. James B. Ftp software have a product, as do 3COM and Excelan. I can only answer for FTP which runs over any NDIS compliant driver.
