[comp.protocols.tcp-ip] CMU/Tek 6.5-3 Config Problem

efb@suned1.Nswses.Navy.MIL (Everett F Batey) (03/12/91)

One of our neighbor sites just installed CMU/TEK 6.5-3 on his MV-II under
VMS 5.4-1 .. we gave it the name of the dns master within our Class B net,
(137.24), engsun.nswses.navy.mil ... the name / ident of the gateway etc

And the only hosts we can reach are those wired into the original install.
We have done IPNCP NETEXIT and all the other choices except reboot and still
it only talks to two hosts for which it was given hard addresses at build
time. It further disavows any knowledge of a nameserver on the the name
servers IP address .. it is on the net with a 255.255.0.0 mask .. can op-
erate with IP addresses but CANT resolve names ..

CAn anyone on a similar site send us copies of their ascii files as affect
CONFIG, IP_STARTUP, etc. Noticed a logical for file named something like
IPNCP_CNF.... where the symbol pointed to sys$manager and the file does not
exist ..

Any help , suggestions welcome and appreciated .. /Ev/
