[comp.protocols.tcp-ip] Xyplex print server question

bill@banana.fedex.com (bill daniels) (03/19/91)

Does anyone have a method of printing to a Xyplex print server that allows
BSD lpr to effectively use both the if and of filters. the xyplex example
code allows one or the other but it is tough to make use of all the lpr
features without being able to initiate both filters.

Details:

If the xyplex example code opens the socket to the printserver as, let's say,
the "of" so that I can get all the header-page stuff, the "if" filter
isn't executed so that I can pick up the page-layout (size, etc.) stuff
for changing characteristics of the printer.

Any pointers to good methods or errors in my logic are much appreciated.
