I'd like to set up a PC as a print server accepting requests from other PCs using FTP's implementation of client lpr for the PC. It occurs to me that if an lpd implementation that runs under MS-DOS were set up as the PC's sole task, perhaps that might work. Does such a thing exist? (I realize I can set up the PC as an ftp server and have users ftp files to it and put their files to prn, but I'd like to be able to do what I've described as well, realizing also that in the end I might need to buy a PC Unix for the server.) -- Internet: chas@uchicago.edu
