On a foreign site, over which we have no control, people need to telnet in from here. An irritating problem that sometimes occurs is "Connection closed by foreign host" right after the login screen (on foreign site) appears. Frequent retries then usually succeed. (debug output shows nothing except some terminal negotiation) I know there are many things (on the foreign site) that can cause this but what can we suggest to the administrator of that foreign site in the way of configuration things to check there.
