               ABSTRACT

What sort of research takes place in an industrial
laboratory? Typical work has been the development of
computer graphics, image processing, and computer-
aided-design systems. Three short movies will be
shown illustrating the application of these technolo-
gies to industrial problems. Some slides will also
be shown of recent progress in colour rendering and
               free-form surfaces.

Fred Krull is currently a staff research engineer at
the General Motors Research Laboratory in Warren,
Michigan. He holds a B.S. in Mathematics from the
University of Wisconsin and a M.S. in Engineering
Mechanics from the University of Illinois. His
current assignment is Group Leader for graphics
research in the Computer Science Department.
