[comp.protocols.tcp-ip] Sorry, but here is the story

liu@cornelius.ucsd.edu (Hai-Ning Liu) (04/11/91)

I sincerely apologize to those who feel being annoyed by
my multiple deleting-from-mailing-list requests.

The story is the following:
I sent to tcp-ip-request some time ago and asked to add my name
on it. It was added the second day.
Later on, I found I can read those message in the mailing
list from Usenet comp.protocols.tcp-ip and I do not like to
handle all those emails.
So I sent requests to tcp-ip-request and asked them
to delete me.

Day by day, I kept receiving them and yes,
I kept asking tcp-ip-request to delete my name.
No answer. I did not know what was going on.
I felt being ignored. I asked people around also.
Some of them suggested I should sent to tcp-ip-relay.
I did sent only one copy it to tcp-ip.
However, I did not see it back.
( I just found out our postmaster@ucsd deleted that message.)
So I thought tcp-ip was monitored.
Finally, I was out patient and mailed multiple copies to the net
under the above assumption.

Again, please accept my humble apology.
Also, if you want to delete your name from the list
in the future, you may have to wait for very long
time after sending email to tcp-ip-request.
