I have troubles using the ethernet generic version of BOOTP from FTP Inc. Although there are 6 BOOTP Servers responding (definitely right responding), my PC cant't get its IP address. I have tried all options and different packet drivers, too. This error is really mysterious, because sometimes it works, but in 95%, it won't. I am using an IBM P70 with an 3C523 Ethernet card, but had the same problem with an IBM 50Z and a WD8003E card, too. Please write, if someone has had similar problems, and if a workable solution is possible.

What version are you running? Also, do you have a direct email address? Your path is beyond my interpretive skills (or, at least, patience). Frances Kirk Selkirk info@ftp.com (617) 246-0900 FTP Software, Inc. 26 Princess Street, Wakefield, MA 01880

I have troubles using the ethernet generic version of BOOTP from FTP Inc. Let our tech support people know what version of PC/TCP you have; in one release we didn't catch a buggy bootp client until we'd shipped a few. Although there are 6 BOOTP Servers responding (definitely right responding), my PC cant't get its IP address. If there are six servers, and sometimes it works, it could simply be that they are all responding at once, and the PC misses the answer. What sort of LAN monitoring tools do you have available?
