Hi Netters, I am looking for some kind of a graphical Network Manager which could monitor and display a distributed systems application (using TCP/IP) on an X interface. Any pointers to something similar also would be of great help. Thanks. -- -rahul (rvg@cs.wayne.edu)

Sorry if I sound like a broken record, but take a look at RFC 1147, "FYI on a Network Management Tool Catalog." Look up Dual Manager, snmpxbar, snmpxconn, snmpxperfmon, snmpxrtmetric, WIN/MGT Station, and xnetperfmon. Hope this helps. Bob Stine bstine@MCIMail.com

I suggest getting a copy of the DataPro publication "SNMP Product Guide Part 1: Management Systems", October 1990. This publication lists a few dozen products which provide what you are looking for, along with contact info for the vendors. You can reach DataPro at 609-764-0100.

You can also reach DataPro toll-free at (800) 328-2776. Ask for extension 2444. This is Jill Huntington-Lee's line. Jill will send out copy's of the "SNMP Product Guide Part 1: Management Systems" free of charge. Also, a new publication entitled "SNMP Product Guide Part 2: Agents" has just been completed, for those who are interested in knowing what networking products current have SNMP agent support. _Michael
