If you need to analyze the protocol stacks, the sniffer is great. It is, however, a terrible cable tester. At the time I ordered it, I needed a protocol analyzer, and I have not regretted getting the sniffer. I understand that there is now some serious competion among the protocol analyzers, and that it may be worth your while to look around. -stacy -- >Doesn't Sun talk about being standards based? stacy@sobeco.com >Novell is THE standard in PC networks. stacy@sobeco.ca Show us the RFC :-) - aronb@gkcl.ists.ca (Aron Burns) uunet!sobeco!stacy
