DEPARTMENT OF COMPUTER SCIENCE UNIVERSITY OF WATERLOO COMPUTER SCIENCE COLLOQUIUM - Wednesday, October 6, 1982. Mr. Baldev Singh of Schlumberger-Dahl Research, Ridgefield, Conn., will speak on "A Graphics Editor for Benesh Movement Notation." TIME: 3:30 PM ROOM: M&C 5158 ABSTRACT Benesh Movement Notation is a two-dimensional system for recording human movement in three dimensions of space. It has been successfully used in the prepara- tion of scores for a wide repertoire of dances. The preparation and revision of Benesh scores is a lengthy and error-prone process which computer graph- ics and interactive editing techniques can greatly facilitate. The aim is to make editing movement scores as easy and convenient as editing text. The design, implementation and user interface of a proto- type editing system for Benesh notation will be dis- cussed. Coffee and refreshments will be served at 3:00 PM. September 28, 1982
