[comp.protocols.tcp-ip] Novell v3.11 to Unix Internet for MAIL exchange

bt@sleaze.meteor.wisc.edu (Bill Taylor) (05/06/91)

We have an administrative network of about 90 ps/2's and PC's
on a token ring network(s). We also have a series of systems with
Ethernet controllers also. There are people like me who can't
get at this mail because we work on Unix work stations. We are about to
upgrade the Novell network to the v3.11 which allows tcp/ip and the token
ring protocul to co-exist. Given That we set up a formal gateway
between the token-ring networks and Ethernet, How do we get
mail to merge, or even just access for those on Unix.

Ideally the token ring mail would send "Unix Type" mail which
could be delt with by things like "elm".

Oh yeah, we are also real concerned about security probelms
associated with such.
