cantie@acsu.buffalo.edu (Operator, get me the number for 911) (05/08/91)
I am looking for something that will allow me to perform the following (and please tell me if I am barking up the wrong tree here :-): - Using a dial-in line I wish to provide a remote system runnig SLIP on a phone line to have access to the campus Internet (TCP/IP). The type of setup I am looking for is: - 9600 modem line on a PC/AT type system using either a 3C501 or a 3C503 running with a packet driver loaded at 0x7e. - It should simply allow blind conversion of the SLIP to TCP/IP. What I wish to accomplish is a way for either a Macintosh running a SLIP version of Telnet or a PC with the same to be able to dial-in and then have the same access to the Internet that it would have if it was connected directly to it. Thanks much for your time... Bruce N.
