I'm having problems with setting up gated on a router that should only be used when a router parallel to it is down: | | +---B---+ A---| |---D +---C---+ | | A backs up its filesystems to D's exabyte. This takes *ages* when it is routing thru C, but it's near the top speed of the exabyte when routing thru B. I tried "interfacemetric <address> 1" in C's gated.conf, but then sometimes A is talking to B *thru B* although A and C are on the same subnet. btw all these are talking RIP only. +----------- Andi Karrer, Communication Systems, ETH Zuerich, Switzerland karrer@bernina.ethz.ch - terible simplifieur
