[comp.protocols.tcp-ip] Waterloo TCPPORT

ash@omega.UUCP (Andrew Hardie) (06/09/91)

There was some talk about this program on the net a few weeks ago.
I only caught the end of it and so am not entirely sure how it is used.
I take it that it is not a "terminal server" in that it provides a
serial port to telnet capability, more that it provides a way of remoting
a serial port across an ethernet, is that right?
I got the executables archive only to find that it contained no docs and
I don't want to get the source (mail costs me 5 cents a kilobyte plus the
phone call here!) just for "how to use" info. The info line produced by
the program is a bit bizarre - the program seems to think it is called
SERTN, not TCPPORT and says "useage: SERTN host port program options".
Not helpful.
Anyone out there using this program and if so what for and how!
Thanks
Andrew
