[comp.protocols.tcp-ip] ppp or cslip or slip on Sun 4/110 and SPARCstation2

ehrlich@cs.psu.edu (Dan Ehrlich) (06/12/91)

Hello,

I am working with some people at U of Pitt EE to try and get a SLIP link up
between a Sun 4/110 (running 4.1.1) here at Penn State and a SS2 (running
4.1.1B) at U of Pitt. There will be TrailBlazer T1600s at both ends by
tomorrow morning (isn't FedEx wonderful? :-).

We have had no luck making PPP talk between two SS2s in the same room and
just assumed that PPP does not run on an SS2. Is this the case? If not,
are there any changes that need to be made for the SS2?

As we are running short of time we would like to be able to fall back to
running SLIP (or compressed SLIP) if PPP does not work. Can someone supply
me with the appropriate settings for a TrailBlazer T1600 that will be used
to run SLIP and/or PPP? Any and all help would be appreciated. Please
reply by e-mail and I will summarize back to this list.

Thanks!
