Prof. F. Mavaddat of this department will speak on
``The Microsystems Laboratory: An Alternative''.
TIME: 3.30 PM
ROOM: MC 5158
_A_B_S_T_R_A_C_T
The Microsystems Laboratory is an environment for the
dissemination of microprocessor-based-design know-how
within the Computer Science Department.
Any such environment is characterized by the expertise
and equipment that it provides. To propagate and
enhance the expertise the laboratory contributes by
supporting courses and projects at Graduate and Under-
graduate levels. A discussion of such courses and
their approach in transferring the know-how to non-
Electrical Engineering students will be given.
Hands on experience in designing a product from the
conceptual level to the first proto-type is of utmost
importance. The Laboratory provides ample opportunity
in this respect. A few of these projects will also be
described.
Presentation will terminate with a discussion of the
equipment available and potential area of work.
