I wonder if anyone can help with the following strangeity. Recently we acquired a colour Sun 3/60 workstation. At first, odd effects occurred when NeWS was run along with Suntools, with the FRAMEBUFFER variable set so that NeWS occupied part of the screen. Whenever the cursor was moved from the NeWS window to a Suntools window, all colours in the NeWS window except white turned black. Clearly there was a colour map clash. Call this behaviour state A. Then, one day, for no apparent reason, NeWS started working perfectly under Suntools, with no colour changes wherever the cursor was moved. The drawback was that when run outside of Suntools, the NeWS screen was now permanently black and white! Call this state B. Some time later, again for no apparent reason, things reverted back to state A, and have remained that way since. The second change did, however, happen after some new software was installed and the machine rebooted. I can't think what could have happened to cause the change, though. The versions of things are SunOS 3.4 and NeWS 1.0. The colour 3/60 boots from a local 71MB disk but gets most of its file system from another 3/60 acting as file server. Any help you can give me would greatly benifit my sanity!
