There is a bunch of public domain NeWS software available for
anonymous ftp directory from tumtum. (Including gnuplot and surfmod!)
Open an ftp connection to tumtum.cs.umd.edu, login as anonymous, with
any password. Don't forget to set binary mode when transfering
compressed files.
For those of you without internet access, there is the news-archive
server, supported by Sun. Send a message to "news-archive@sun.com" or
"{ihnp4,ucbvax,decvax,pyramid}!sun!news-archive" saying "help" (in the
subject or body), and you should receive instructions. If it does not
respond in a reasonable ammount of time, try including the line "path
<some-likely-path-relative-to-sun>" in your message.
