I want to be able to display grabbed images within NeWS that use their own colormap. Pictures displayed in NeWS seem to be approximated to the NeWS colormap which results in large scale image degradation. Is it possible to display a picture within the NeWS environment using the particular colormap of the picture??? I actually want to view several pictures, each with their own colormap. I will probably reserve a section of the colormap which will hold the colors for the menus, so that they don't change color when a new picture is diplayed. Thanks for hour help davidw.
