I agree that the terminals under the current news are too slow. But I still want to use the great graphics, so I use the suntool windows running under news. Unfortunately they override all the news graphics, but they can be set aside when I need to do graphs (the psh and psview must be run from nterm, the news server ignores them if they come from a suntool.) If you want to set this up yourself, get news to come up in your .login, and put (shelltools) forkunix in a file named user.ps in your home directory. Then put a file named shelltools in your bin, containing: shelltool -Wp 0 66 -Ws 650 834 -WP 528 0 -Wl "left" -WL "left"& shelltool -Wp 0 66 -Ws 650 834 -WP 528 0 -Wl "left" -WL "left"& shelltool -Wp 502 333 -Ws 650 567 -WP 592 0 -Wi -Wl "mid" -WL "mid"& shelltool -Wp 658 66 -Ws 494 834 -WP 656 0 -Wi -Wl "right" -WL "right"& shelltool -Wp 0 0 -Ws 527 63 -WP 0 0 -W -Wl "strip" -WL "strip"& mailtool -Wp 8 189 -Ws 646 708 -WP 912 0 -Wi -i 1& clock -Wp 0 270 -Ws 218 39 -WP 848 0 -Wi & By the way, does anyone know how to add to this system to get one of the nterms to appear when I log in? And how can I get my pair of pet eyes to appear too? Regards to all - Tom Schneider toms@ncifcrf.gov
