[comp.windows.news] new, improved psterm available?

rscott@eta.unix.ETA.COM (Rich Scott) (11/01/88)

I seem to recall that someone said on the net a few months ago that
they were going to post a new, improved, and much faster version of
'psterm' for NeWS 1.1 users. Has anything come of this?
I don't remember who the original poster was (Grasshopper Group?)

We at the Grasshopper Group said that we would post a new imporved
version of Sun's psterm terminal emulator. Well it has turned out be
a lot of work, with some big problems.
We have it working, though it is hack within hack. We have been
going through the process of makeing releases and off site testing.
The big problem is that each time we do this we run into some big
problem. Since we are trying to help people and not make a mess for
everyone down the line, we have held up the posting till we think that
psterm will not blow up on you when you least expect it.
Psterm has been submitted to comp.sources.unix, we have to send in a
patch before it can go out though. We did the patch today and are
testing it (problem with incompatable psterm versions).
We are trying to get this out to you folks, it is in the pipeline.
