     Dr. Bill Cowan of National Research Council will  speak
     on ``Color as a tool in understanding visual displays (
     and avoiding Sabre-toothed Tigers ).  The role of color
     in  attention and visual organization activiteis of the
     brain.''

     ABSTRACT

     This seminar will have two parts:

     The first part is the a discussion  of  the  RS343  and
     RS170  standards  for  CRT  monitors.  The  information
     presented will be of interest to anyone  who  needs  to
     acquire and/or use a 512 line or a 1024 line monitor.

     The second part of the seminar will discuss the role of
     color  in  the  selective and effective presentation of
     information on the color monitor which was selected and
     installed  with  the help of the information in part 1.
     The results of the  pertinent  psychcophysical  experi-
     ments will be discussed.
