ABSTRACT

Existing virtual Prolog machines are influenced by conven-
tional architectures. Developments in VLSI technology
change architectural constraints. Hence it is useful to
identify the simplest possible Prolog machine and to be able
to optimize it to any of several sets of architectural con-
straints (for example, a small instruction set). In this
talk I explain the approach to an Ultra Simple Prolog
Machine taken in the Logic Programming Group.
