I wonder if somebody has NeWS versions of the sunview applications mailtool and monthtool ? It would be nice to get rid of the sunview- windows which do not behave very nicely with NeWS. I noticed that the local client-server traffic goes to network, too. This increases our network load. I looked at the news_server with adb and noticed that it uses the 'gethostname' systemcall. It did a little patch which forces the host 'localhost' to be used. This caused a significant decrease in the network traffic. Now I want more opinions: was the patch a good idea ? PS.
