[comp.windows.news] Converting dvi to NeWS-compatible PostScript?

callahan@gondor.cs.psu.edu (Paul B. Callahan) (06/10/89)

I have recently been preparing a paper using TeX, and I have tried three
different programs which convert .dvi files to PostScript for output to
an Apple Laser-Writer. All of these produce files which are compatible
with the printer, but none of the files seem to work with NeWS.

Does anyone know of a program which converts dvi to a form of PostScript
which works under NeWS so these files can be previewed?

Hi there,

GoodNeWS has a TeX previewer. It allows you to preview TeX documents
under the GoodNeWS environment. You are able to insert drawings into
your document (created with the GoodNeWS drawing tool).
A special version of dvi2ps which converts the dvi files (including
the drawings) into LaserWriter PostScript. All in all a pretty neat
system.

Arthur.

PS: Ask dug@turing.ac.uk if you want to get GoodNeWS.
