[comp.windows.news] Common NeWS questions

kml@ncifcrf.gov (Kevin Lahey) (06/23/89)

I have only recently managed to find myself a Sun running NeWS.
NeWS is *great*! It seems to be the most elegent, beautifully designed
windowing system around. However, I had a few questions:

Does everybody just hack the files in NeWS/lib so that init.ps includes
.user.ps instead of just user.ps? I really don't want to have
*one more* file in my home directory.

Where can I find an archive of interesting NeWS programs? I managed
to pick the Grasshopper psterm out of comp.sources.unix archives,
but I'd like to have more! Any ftp sites? I have heard of a NeWS
archive site at sun.com, but does it allow anonymous ftp?

The regular NeWS manual seems a bit obtuse. Are there any better manuals?
I guess I should just dive in...

Well, thanks in advance for any answers you can give me,
Kevin
