After my post a few days ago about the lack of V.4 vendors shipping the X11/NeWS server I have discovered the following information. 1) The PC maker Everex will include in their next release(4.0) of UNIX the merged server. This is a huge win. Everex has always had a superior product to SCO at a cheaper price. Anybody remember SCO promising a port of X11/NeWS? Bug the local Everex guys, 10 million+ machines is nothing to sneeze at. 2) UHC Corporation, which has been advertising the first(?) version of V.4 also claims to have the X11/NeWS server as part of their package. I have tried to get an evaluation unit but to no avail. I applaud these vendors, and hope that Commercial developers start taking note of this. OpenWindows will be a very viable development platform.
