I guess this is a known bug, but since I don't have access to the list... movecanvas on an unrooted canvas (such as created with buildimage) causes the server to crash with the following message: XNeWS: internal error detected (SIGSEGV). Report this problem to a knowledgeable person. XIO: fatal IO error 32 (Broken pipe) on X server ":0.0" after 120219 requests (120187 known processed) with 0 events remaining. The connection was probably broken by a server shutdown or KillClient. /usr/openwin/bin/xinit: connection to X server lost. The following will illustrate the bug: $ psh executive Welcome to X11/NeWS Version 2 /mask 16 16 1 [] null buildimage def mask setcanvas 50 50 movecanvas --- kapow --- [Tried and bombed on a 4/110 SunOS 4.1, SS1 SunOS 4.1, SLC SunOS 4.1] ------------- David Lau-Kee, Canon Research Centre Europe, 17/20 Frederick Sanger Rd, Surrey Research Park, Guildford, Surrey, GU25YD, UK. laukee@canon.co.uk, laukee@canon.uucp, ..!mcsun!ukc!uos-ee!canon!laukee Tel: +44 (0) 483 574325 Fax: +44 (0) 483 574360
