ABSTRACT

A new kind of system architecture - called a coor-
dination system - is discussed with examples. This
approach is aimed at providing computer support not
only for the solitary user, but also for genuinely
cooperative endeavours involving multiple people
operating on distributed hardware.

The new system architecture is based on developing
theory/science about the mechanics of operations. This
theory was profoundly influenced by Petri Nets.
