INTERNATIONAL WORKSHOP ON ATTRIBUTE GRAMMARS AND THEIR APPLICATIONS WAGA Paris, September 19--21, 1990 ADVANCE PROGRAMME AND REGISTRATION INFORMATION ** PRESENTATION Although attribute grammars have been introduced more than 20 years ago, they are still not as widely used as it could have been hoped initially, in particular in the industry, despite their qualities as a specification tool. The aim of WAGA is hence to show that attribute grammars are still an active research topic which --- and this is important --- now leads to useful applications in various areas. It is open to anyone interested in the field (researchers, engineers, students, ...). The workshop will cover all aspects of attribute grammars, with an emphasis on practical results and applications. It will feature three invited talks, 21 presentations selected by the Program Committee and a discussion. WAGA will be held at Ministe`re de la Recherche et de la Technologie, in the former buildings of prestigious E'cole Polytechnique. They are located in one of the most pleasant district of Paris, at walking distance from Quartier Latin, Jardin du Luxembourg and Jussieu campus, which groups the Universities of Paris VI and Paris VII. * Organization INRIA Institut National de Recherche en Informatique et en Automatique * Sponsorship AFCET Association Franc, aise pour la Cyberne'tique E'conomique et Technique * Scientific Organizers Pierre Deransart INRIA, Rocquencourt, France Martin Jourdan INRIA, Rocquencourt, France * Program Committee Henk Alblas Twente University, the Netherlands Pierre Deransart INRIA, Rocquencourt, France Rodney Farrow Declarative Systems Inc., Palo Alto, USA Paul Franchi-Zannettacci CERISI, Sophia-Antipolis, France Robert Giegerich Universita"t Bielefeld, FRG Tibor Gyimo'thy Hungarian Acad. of Sciences, Szeged, Hungary Martin Jourdan INRIA, Rocquencourt, France Uwe Kastens Universita"t GH Paderborn, FRG Takuya Katayama Tokyo Institute of Technology, Japan Kai Koskimies University of Tampere, Finland Bernard Lorho INRIA, Rocquencourt, France Vladimir Serebriakov Soviet Acad. of Sciences, Moscow, USSR Tim Teitelbaum Cornell University, Ithaca, USA * Organization Committee The're`se Bricheteau INRIA, Rocquencourt, France Sylviane Gosset INRIA, Rocquencourt, France E'lisabeth Many INRIA, Rocquencourt, France ** PROGRAMME * Wednesday, September 19, 1990 09:00--10:15 Registration 10:15--10:30 Opening Session Pierre Deransart & Martin Jourdan (INRIA, Rocquencourt) 10:30--11:00 The Early Days Chairperson: Bernard Lorho (INRIA, Rocquencourt) The Genesis of Attribute Grammars Donald E.
