CALL FOR PAPERS: IEEE TENCON'91 SESSION ON COMPILERS AND PARALLEL COMPUTATION August 28 - 30, 1991 New Delhi, India Under the auspices of the IEEE, the session organizers invite submission of papers for a session on "COMPILERS AND PARALLEL COMPUTATION". This session will focus broadly on compilers for parallel machines but issues such as scheduling instructions for superscalar & VLIW machines that enhance overlapped computation are also of interest. The areas of interest include but not limited to: + Automatic parallelization and vectorization for shared memory machines. Interactive tools for the same. Dependency analysis. + Compiler transformations for generating code for message passing machines from sequential programs. + Instruction scheduling. Practical experience with code generation for commercially available processors like i860 and RISC machines. + Software caches. Compiler optimizations for better cache performance. Effects of multiprocessor memory coherence on compiler optimizations. Memory models. + Tools like profilers, etc. that help compilers to emit better code. Instrumentation of compilers for help in architecture design and performance analysis. + Design and implementation of parallel languages libraries for light-weight processes macro libraries for synchronization & communication Prospective authors should submit two copies of an extended abstract (less than 5000 words) to the organizer by October 30, 1990. Authors will be notified of acceptance or rejection by February 15,1991. Photo-ready copy of the complete paper must be received by May 30,1991 for inclusion in the proceedings which will be published by the IEEE and distributed at the symposium. Session Organizer: K.Gopinath (from Aug.1, '90) Computer Science Dept.
