[comp.compilers] Looking for references on vectorizing compilers

lindgren@sics.se (Thomas Lindgren) (08/31/90)

I'm looking for references on vectorizing compilers, from the
'origins of the species' up to where we are today. I _do_ have
articles by Kuck et al ("On the Number of Operations Simultaneously
Executable in Fortran-Like Programs and Their Resulting Speedup",
IEEE Computer 1972) and Padua et al ("High-Speed Multiprocessors
and Compilation Techniques", IEEE Computer 1980), but I hazard
the state of the art has advanced a bit since then!

So, send me your references on vectorizing compilers (_not_ on how
to vectorize programs!) and related subjects, and I'll summarize
in a couple of weeks.
 E-mail preferred.
