I am currently working on a SPARC instruction scheduler that works on executable files. One of the advantages of working off an executable is that the scheduler is independent of the compiler and the source code. The scheduler is aware of the specific details of the chip set that the executable will run on (i.e. cycle times, # of functional units). These chip specific details can be easily changed to target a different chip set. Question: I am looking for references or other info on CDC's Afterburner or similar projects. Any information would be greatly appreciated. -- Stig Thormodsrud sthormo@hubcap.clemson.edu -- Send compilers articles to compilers@iecc.cambridge.ma.us or {ima | spdcc | world}!iecc!compilers.
