Computers and Animation Doris Kochanek National Film Board of Canada 4:00 pm on Wednesday, January 23, 1985 Room 116 Arts Lecture Hall, University of Waterloo About The Talk Computers are changing the way in which animation is produced. The National Film Board and a number of private companies in Canada and abroad are turning to computer animation to reduce costs and to increase quality. The talk will discuss traditional methods of animation and then look at a variety of ways in which computers can enhance the animator's skills. Examples of animation produced at the National Film Board will be shown. About The Speaker Doris Kochanek is an animator/systems analyst at the National Film Board in Montreal where she has worked since 1982. She is responsible for the design and implementation of software systems for computer-assisted animation. Doris received a BFA from the University of Victoria and then received an MMath in computer science from the University of Waterloo in 1982.
