[comp.sys.masscomp] VME to Multibus Adapter Needed

We are planning to build a custom interface for use on the MassComp. We
would like to build one design to use in several different computers and
all but the MassComp runs one form or another of VME. Since MassComp is
indicating that future products will be VME that seems like a good long
term solution. In the short term we will need to adapt a 6u(2
connector)VME board to the multibus. I know we can a VME chassis to
hang off the multibus, but it is expensive and takes up a lot of cabinet
space when I only want to plug in one board.

If you place a standard(short) multibus card and a 6u VME card next to
each other it looks like it should be possible to build an adapter board
which plugs in to one of MassComps long slots and allowed you to plug a
VME board into the back of the adapter(sort of like MassComps Block Mode
Adapter card). We don't need the speed of the VME, it just looks like
the new standard.

I have looked in the obvious places and asked the MassComp salesman but
have not found such a board. Has anyone seen or heard of such a thing?
Is it possible (I'm not a bus expert)? Any other suggestions?
