This will serve as the formal annoucement and call for papers for the 1988 meeting of the Masscomp Users' Society. The meeting dates are April 18th through 21th at the Sheraton Tara Hotel in Danvers, Massachusetts. If you would like to submit a paper for the conference, please send an abstract to me in one of the following ways: 1. U.S. Mail --- The abstract should be typed on an 8.5 by 11 inch sheet of paper, and be clear enought for reproduction in the abstract book. It should contain a title, and your name and affiliation. On another sheet of paper, provide the following information: The name(s) of the authors, the name of the presentor (with affiliation), the title of the paper and the session preference (e.g. General Session or Special Interest Group or no preference). Send these two items to Stan Barber, Office of the Vice-President for Information Technology, Baylor College of Medicine, Houston, Tx 77030. 2. Electronically --- The abstract should be in "plain text" format or in n/troff format using the ms macros and avoiding the use of special characters. It should contain a title and your name and affiliation. In addition, please indicate the preference for session (e.g. General, Special Interest Group or no preference), the name of the presentor, and a U.S. Mail address for acceptance notification. Send this information to masscomp-request@soma.bcm.tmc.edu with the subject line of ANNUAL MEETING ABSTRACT. Abstracts must be postmarked no later than December 12th, 1987. You will be notified via U.S. Mail and electronically if possible by Jaunary 18th. Please direct questions about the call for papers to me.
