In response to a recent (well, not too old) request about PCs living on ethernet(works), I described my experience with using Sun's PC-NFS package and aluded to a promise to get NCSA's telnet running. Well, I've had NCSA Telnet version 2.0 running for a couple of days, and I AM SOLD (even if it cost money!) It has none of the delays that annoyed me so about Sun's implementation. Also, it supports: multiple sessions which you can cycle through escapes to DOS and SERVER mode (ie you can push files TO your PC!) I'm not too hot on the color choices (as they appear on a monochrome screen) but thats probably because I haven't read the documentation. I hear by the rumor mill that a newer release is forthcomming. It appears to only know about 3Com's 3C501 (the dumb boards) so far... -- Dale Chayes Lamont-Doherty Geological Observatory of Columbia University usmail: Route 9W, Palisades, N.Y. 10964 voice: (914) 359-2900 extension 434 fax: (914) 359-6817 usnet: ...philabs!lamont!dale
