[comp.sys.masscomp] Can Masscomp floppy drives read IBM PC floppies?

We occaisonally need to upload files from IBM PC floppies to our
Masscomp 5500.  Now, we use software (PROCOMM) and a serial connection
between an IBM clone and the Masscomp to upload the data--very slowly.

Has anyone figured out if the Masscomp floppy drive can be programmed
to read IBM PC style floppies?

[The answer is probably, under special conditions. There is some source 
available the supposedly works from egray@fthood.UUCP. It is available
from the comp.sys.masscomp archive files in the ARCHIVE.Vol2.Z file.
