[comp.sys.apollo] rsh and rlogin

rich@eddie.MIT.EDU (Richard Caloggero) (10/01/87)

Can I use rsh or rlogin to connect to another host on
the Apollo ring without using the ethernet
(we don't have ethernet yet)?
Are all of the Domaim/IX network services hooked to tcp/ip?
It seems rather absurd that one would use
TCP/IP (ethernet) instead of the Apollo ring to talk to nodes connected directly
to the ring!

Yes, you can use rsh and rlogin without using ethernet, but you have to
config the tcp/ip on the apollo ring network. Please refer to apollo
tcp/ip ref manual for the details.
