[comp.sys.apollo] "fixed in 9.7"

richard@gryphon.UUCP (12/05/87)

We just got our 9.7 tape, and the first thing I do is look over what
bugs are fixed.

Remember that little message in the phase II shell

"You must be from Prime" if you entered '?' to the prompt ?

Fixed in 9.7, as in, gone. :-) Guess I shouldn't have posted
that one to the net - I kinda liked it. Does this mean we lose
the "trait not supported for wicked far away object" and
"tape won't fit through 25" hatch" messages as well ? :-) :-)

Actually it seems like a pretty good release (but then I dont use TCP/IP), a
couple of things that were bothering us for a while are fixed.

gpr_$cubic_spline_x: no longer crashes. thankyouthankyouthankyou.

The GPR input stuff seems not only faster, but bulletproof as well. I had just
isolated a bug whereby locater events from the mouse, when trying to position
accuratly, would sometimes go *poof* to (0,0). This was actually fixed in 9.6,
but is not documented until the 9.7 release notes.

Has SR9.7 been officially released yet, or are you working with a beta test
copy? Customer services and R&D keep telling us they'll send us a copy of
SR9.7 to try to fix some of our bugs, but it never shows up ...
