Has anyone been successful in routing files with the lpr command to the /sys/print/spooler without having lpr? chop off the characters pass the 132th column. We've defined the printer in our /etc/printcap file with the entry 'pw=256', and we've tried using the '-w' option with the lpr command to set the page width without any success. The files goes to the /usr/spool/lpd directory fine, but when lpr routes the file to the /sys/print/spooler via prf, the extra characters are lost. Why do we want to print documents greater than 132 columns? Because these are postscript files and if the trailing portion of a line is truncated the postscript printer cannot understand the line. We have our printers shared between our Sun and Apollo computers with the printers being connected to the Apollos. Any help would be appreciated. James Kwong Sacramento, CA 95802 Calif.
