Hmmm ... I can't help you with the DN3000-as-a-gateway question, but we are running SR9.7 on our ringhet-based nodes with a DN660 acting as the gateway to our departmental ethernet. We haven't seen any problems peculiar to SR9.7 (as opposed to SR9.5.1). The DN3000 self tests recognize ringnet controllers 0 and 1, and ethernet controllers 0 and 1, and the older two board ringnet controller. If you don't have the correct ringnet controller in your configuration file, the node will run, but it will crash every couple of hours. I found this out the hard way when I accidently told the CONFIG program that one of our older DN3000's had the newer single board ringnet controller. If you think you might have this problem, try running DEX and give it the AUTO command to size the system. It will tell you if their is a descrepency between the existing hardware and the configuration file. -- David Krowitz mit-erl!mit-kermit!krowitz@eddie.mit.edu mit-erl!mit-kermit!krowitz@mit-eddie.arpa krowitz@mit-mc.arpa (in order of decreasing preference)
